Staircases are difficult to install – there’s a lot of detailed, exacting work involved. That’s why most other wood flooring companies won’t do stairs. Our craftsmen have the experience to install beautiful staircases and custom wood or wrought iron railings. We’ve installed thousands of staircases, so give us a call today! 804-500-5757
We’re the only flooring company in Richmond Virginia to install staircases. Installing custom stairs and railings takes a true craftsman with years of experience. The work is labor intensive and tedious and most companies won’t do stairs for that reason. We have the experience to help you understand all of your custom stair and railing options, and whether or not your wooden stairs can be refinished instead of replacing them.
We can absolutely install and finish your staircase to match your existing hardwood flooring.
Refinishing a hardwood staircase requires special equipment & a lot of patience. Floor refinishing companies like Eagles Floors usually get most of the job done in only one day. Our experts are capable of completing your staircase sanding & refinishing to industry specifications, while providing high-quality service.
The process of sanding and refinishing hardwood staircases involves sanding them with the required grit sandpaper. They are then handscraped, if needed, usually when spots are missed. A fine paper is used to remove small scratches. Once that is done, the dust is removed.
The staining process includes staining your staircase with a crystal-clear finish or one custom blended to suit your preferences and hardwood stairs. We then apply a protective glaze and coating.
Each coat of oil-based polyurethane must dry overnight. Water based sealers naturally dry within a few hours.
Stairs are a beautiful architectural piece in your home, but there are many other reasons it’s a good idea to keep them updated. Whether it’s a full-scale remodel to match a home’s new look or just a new set of treads and risers, keeping your stairs in good shape is good practice as a homeowner.
